A family bike ride
We had a fun family bike ride last Saturday. Michele loaded up the bikes and the kids, picked me up at the temple, and we headed up to Portland for a bike ride on the riverfront. It was quite the adventure!
We started at OMSI parking lot, and headed over the new bridge (Tilikum crossing). Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures on the bridge. Probably because we were dealing with a certain 7 year old who was afraid to cross because it went up a little. He was fine on the downside.
We rode along the river going north until we came to the steel bridge. Not sure what it is called, or if it even has a name. We crossed that bridge back over the river, and rode south back to OMSI. The whole ride was beautiful. It was fun to see everything, and there was no shortage of interesting people.
There's a portion of the trail on the way back that was a dock on the water. It was so fun to feel like we were right on the water!
It was about a 4 mile ride, but the kids just loved the whole thing. Both Aaron and April said it was the best family bike ride ever. April just loves Portland, so this was a dream come true practically. There weren't really any complaints about how long the ride was. We will definitely have to do it again. Maybe not on a Saturday when the paths are so busy.
