Blogging Through the Alphabet: C is for Celebration

celebration

We have some celebrations going on over here. One is that my son just turned 12, and the other is the 3-day weekend we have coming up. It's Memorial day on Monday, so we celebrate by having a 3-day weekend and showing our red, white, and blue colors. I like to get out all my red, white, and blue decorations for all the upcoming American holidays. I thought it would be fun to add to that by picking a Pinterest project for my abc blogging.

I have been in a quilting mood, so I chose this pin that links to free directions at the Craftsy website for a flag quilt square. I was able to complete this in less than an hour once I had my fabric. My completed square came out pretty good!

It really helps to have the cutting board and rotary cutters. I already had these on hand, so that really helps to get some exact measurements.

I picked up a bunch of these fat quarters from my local Wal store. These are so convenient, and made the project go pretty fast too.

I got out my decorations for the mantle. I hope to get a frame for my quilt square soon. Also, notice the birthday present, that's no longer there as we celebrated my son's birthday yesterday.

I put together my clothespin wreath. I made this a few years ago at a church relief society activity a few years ago.

This is another wall hanging that I made several years ago. Like over a decade ago. I've had to glue some things back on, but for the most part it has held together awesome.

I am co-hosting with these ladies for this round of abc blogging. You can visit and link up at any of their blogs, or just link up here.

  1. I love your decorations and am thinking right now about switching out the colors a bit to celebrate Canada Day!

  2. Oh, I am going to have to visit your Pinterest Board! I have a similar one for Patriotic, but it's fairly empty. What do you plan to do with your flag quilted square?
